Retirement: Will you run out of money? MarketWatch (blog)

The fear of running out of money ranks as the top concern many of us have about retirement. Though few people will actually run out of money during retirement, the future looks more uncertain and more risky than at any time in the past few decades, so it is reasonable that you would give this issue some serious thought.

So, what has gone wrong?  Though it would make a good topic, I’m not going to spend time talking about the problems in funding Social Security, Medicare and even state, Federal and local pension plans.  Let me just say that of them, Social Security is in the best shape and it’s not very good.
